Heather Thomas
Founder + CEO
At Critical Mass, she founded and built their business development practice from the ground up, helping the company win countless pitches and triple its revenues. After the company was crowned the top interactive agency three years in a row by Forrester Research, she retired and vowed to leave the late-night start-up treadmill for good.
But when she unexpectedly received a litany of pleas from start-up founders, she founded Winsome in 2010 to help them, and has never looked back. She has a particular interest in helping CEOs and their teams avoid all the lessons she had to learn the hard way.
After all that time pitching in boardrooms, Heather also enjoys helping executives master the art of persuasive presentations. So she spent three years co-teaching Masters classes in Strategic Storytelling and Persuasive Presenting at Columbia University, and formed a partnership with the strategic communication firm Ovid in 2011. There, she coaches executives and runs group presentation training workshops. Every Winsome client also gets to benefit from her experience as a communications instructor and storytelling coach.
When she's not working, Heather enjoys interior design, gardening and family life as a wife and mother of two boys. An honors graduate of Princeton University, she stays involved as a member of her class leadership team. And, after a decade of urban living, she enjoys living back in her picturesque college town where every square of sidewalk holds a memory.
